FirstWords has been designed with simplicity in mind - there are no complicated menus or options, and no need to understand files and folders. And yet it has enough features for children to produce their first documents in minutes.
Children can simply start typing and see the results immediately. When they quit the program (using the large 'Exit' button) their work is automatically saved. When they start the program again it will carry on where they left off.
Different colours, font sizes, text effects and text alignments can be chosen by clicking on the clear buttons.
FirstWords isn't restricted to a single document - new documents can be easily created and chosen from a simple list.
Printing is just a question of clicking the 'Print' button. The system default printer is always used so there can be no confusion with printer options.
